The WilderLand is a part of the creative and irregular avant-garde world of Iranian children’s authors. A virtual land, made of words, where the new generation of Iranian children’s literature writers have taken shelter.
Over the years of disobeying the implementation of censorship orders and the imposition of the dominant approach, a branch of unconventional and out-of-frame literature has been formed in Iran. A kind of literature that has distanced itself from the mainstream of Iranian children’s literature and has a different, individual, free, and creative view of literature.
The inhabitants of the WilderLand are independent authors and illustrators who have evaded governmental censorship and have swum against the current. We have created a wilder movement that disapproves of stereotypes and is open to differences. We believe that imagination should be wild and not confined, thus a unique work is produced.
The WilderLand is a place that has assembled these authors and is willing to introduce their voices, views, and stories to children all over the world. The WilderLand is a free land where imagination calls the shots.
